> The Master Thesis aimed to deepen a theme that has always remained implicit in the narration and discovery of one's own city.
The compendium of military forts from the Habsburg era in Verona represent an example of exceptionally good and well-preserved fortified architecture.
The aim of this investigation was to analyze the sense of being of these artifacts both from a historical and present point of view, to investigate the various reasons why and how they were built, what historical reasons led to their construction and which to their abandonment, what role they play today in the urban fabric of the city.
Once these reasons has been understood, an attempt was made to bring a new vision of reintegration of the forts into the life of the city, taking advantage of their peculiar architectural composition and location in the city to bring different functions and mend urban relations otherwise ignored.
